Iowa Credit Union League - Events Intern

The Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL) is the non-profit trade association that represents the interests of Iowa credit unions and the more than one million members they serve.

This internship will be in the Spring of 2019 with the opportunity to extend through the summer and fall.

The Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL) is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as our Events Intern. This is a part-time paid internship opportunity. This person must demonstrate an interest in hands-on experience with vendors and event staff and the desire to deliver an exceptional member experience. Preference will be given to applicants entering their junior or senior year with at least a 3.0 GPA. The position will report to the Director of Member Services and work closely with the ICUL team on supporting events from conceptualization to execution.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Assist with planning and execution of meetings and events.
  • Coordinate and help with registration processes.
  • Assist with recording and tracking of event logistics.
  • Coordinate speaker logistics and deliverables for each event.
  • Assist with budget tracking and reporting.
  • Assist with on-site event execution to include set-up and tear-down.
  • Participate in site tours of event space.
  • Utilize event management software, Cvent.
  • Assist with updating banquet event orders.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.



  • Candidates must be pursuing a degree in Event Management/Marketing or related field.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines with little supervision.
  • Effectively prioritize work and manage time between multiple projects utilizing effective organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and other software solutions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to take initiative to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Collaborative individual with a positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism and strong work ethic with a high level of integrity.
