AMC Paralegal

 

Affiliates Management Company (AMC) is a wholly-owned holding company of the Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL) and its operating companies.

We are currently seeking a talented Paralegal to provide effective and proficient legal support.  Our ideal candidate thrives in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment and must be able to successfully work independently and collaborate in a team atmosphere. The Paralegal supports our team of attorneys by performing a variety of functions that may include drafting transactional and corporate documents, document analysis, research and cite checking.

Responsibilities:

  • Compile, analyze, and organize information and documentation to create a logical and usable work product to assist attorneys.
  • Draft agreements, notices and documents under attorney direction.
  • Present work product effectively in written memos, e-mails, or in logical discussion.
  • Liaison between clients and attorneys.
  • Oversight of company record retention policy and compliance.
  • Assist with intellectual property and general corporate filings, monitoring and research.
  • Coordinates the storage of client information with the department protocol and technology.
  • Assist attorneys with litigation support and management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively, innovatively, and creatively while exercising sound judgment.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of prior paralegal or legal assistant experience; law firm experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with real estate, financial services and/or collections/bankruptcy.
  • Experience with performing legal research.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to follow up on assignments.
  • Positive, flexible and committed attitude.
  • Proven time management to work independently.
  • Able to multi task and meet deadlines in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions.
  • Adaptable and able to take ownership and solid decision making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be able to interact with all levels of staff and management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Thomson Reuters products.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
